Conditions: Medium crosswind to Boston shore for all races. Finally gorgeous sunshine!
Comments: In the last third of the V1 race, the unstoppable Charles River barge appeared coming upstream toward the shells. The captain wisely cut his humungous wake way down and steered toward Cambridge just above Riverside; coxes did a heroic job playing chicken and keeping their courses until both had to swing to Boston away from the chop. Brooks caught the brunt of the wake for about 4 strokes and was able to row through it; BBN had less of it for maybe two strokes and also rowed through. For all boats, it was an excellent day of competitive racing.
