Distance: 1500m
Conditions: Brilliant sunshine. A medium cross-head wind at the start intensified to strong over the course of the afternoon with the 4th boat race taking the brunt. Conditions in the first 750 meters of the course were challenging for 4th boat race with the occasional whitecap.
Order of racing: 1V, 3V, 2V, 4V
Comments: In the 2nd boat race, 500m into the race, 2 seat of Lincoln's 2nd caught a boat-stopping crab that resulted in a broken backstay, affecting the margin, but not the order of finish. The crew rallied and valiantly finished the race.
In the 4th boat race, choppy conditions caused a number of small crabs for both Lincoln and Middlesex. At 500m to go, the MX stroke caught a small crab, jumped her seat, and once back on caught another small crab. Again, the margin was affected but not the order of finish. MX got it back together and finished the race well.
