Comments: Great morning of racing on the Charles! Each novice eight raced multiple times to practice aligning, steering safely, and rowing next to competitors as many times as possible. Not all races started exactly on the line, so times should not be compared. The second race was restarted twice after a boat-stopping crab by Brookline B in the first 10 strokes of the race, and then restarted again after another boat accidentally entered the race course, requiring an emergency stop by all crews to avoid a head-on collision. Hingham also caught an over-the-head crab during the second race after the breakage zone, but it did not affect the finish order. Thanks to all the coaches who made this a great learning experience for so many new athletes!
