Conditions: Races before 9am were run with the current but against a rising tide and 6-10mph cross headwind. Tide switched to outgoing at 9am while wind and rain stayed pretty constant. All starts were floating. The 500m dash races were filled with chicanery, deceit and a general air of perfidiousness. As such, they were a huge hit with spectators, athletes, and coaches alike.
