Georgetown @ Rutgers (LW men)

May 3, 1998; Raritan River, New Brunswick, NJ

Thanks to Brady Gould for the results.

Varsity 8
Georgetown 5:50.05
Rutgers 5:50.11
In the 1V race Georgetown ripped off the start to establish an early lead.
Rutgers looking a little sluggish and never pushed or tried to stop
Georgetown's strong push to the lead. Georgetown pushed out to a open water at
a 1000m when Rutgers 1000m move failed and left Georgetown still 9 seats up
crossing the 500m to go. Rutgers then deciding to push rasies the rate and
Georgetown responded but could not stop Rutgers from drawing level at the
line. Georgetown puts it bow over the line first by the difference in strokes.
Georgetown raced a very gutsy race pushing to the lead and trying to maintain
the lead. They did a great job over the first 1500m then faulter because of
Rutgers strong push and just plain tried. Rutgers ends the season 5-4 first
winning season since 1991. Rutgers is also the only Varsity to race all 10
Eastern Sprint schools, seeing Harvard at San Diego Crew Classic.

Second Varsity 8
Rutgers 6:06.50
Georgetown 6:11.2
In the 2V race Rutgers looked great. They continued their improvement and
look very confident today. Rutgers only was challenged early on by Georgetown
but did not look back the last 1500m.

First Freshman
Rutgers 6:04.50
Georgetown 6:07.50
In the 1F race Rutgers moved well at the 500m in and the 1000m to get their
advantage. Georgetown and Rutgers travel similar speeds through most of the
race. The big difference was Rutgers moves.

2f/3V 4+
Georgetown 7:01.48
Rutgers 7:19.60
