Brown @ Princeton (HW men)

May 2, 1998; Lake Carnegie, Princeton, NJ

Conditions: light tailwind, extremely good water made for very fast conditions. Varsity 8 time was record-setting for the Carnegie, as was the LW men's time in the HYP's race, held later in the morning.

Varsity 8
Princeton 5:31.40
Brown 5:39.43
Brown led the race early, and seemed somewhat in control, in that they
did not appear to be terribly overextended. When Princeton began charging in
the middle of the race, however, it became apparent that Brown was not going to
be able to go with them, and Princeton dominated the third 500 in similar fashion
as last week against Yale. By the time the crews were into the final 500, Princeton
was working on a full length lead, eventually extending to a length of open water,
finishing in a record time for a HW V8 on the Carnegie.

Second Varsity 8
Princeton 5:44.11
Brown 5:49.52
Princeton 3V 6:03.68
Again Princeton trailed until the second 1000, where they completely
reversed the momentum of the boat race to win by a little bit of open water.

First Freshman
Princeton 5:49.59
Brown 5:51.76

Freshman 4
Brown
Princeton (no time taken; margin: 7.35 seconds)
