After calling all over South Carolina (including the sheriff's office), we haven't been able to come up with race times, but here's what happened:
Men's Open 1x
was won by Jamie Koven by one-half second over Don Smith, who had led the race, apparently until the last few strokes.
Women's Open 1x
was won by Monica Michini.
Men's Lightweight 1x
was won by Steve Tucker by 5-6 seconds over James Martinez.
Women's Lightweight 1x
was won by Sarah Garner.
All 1x trials are a best-of-three format; the second final takes place Sunday morning. We expect to have complete times for both finals sometime tomorrow.
FINAL #2 - Sunday -- Racing starts at 7:30 am.
