Rowing Shell vs. Wake-board Boat
Submitted by: Phil McMican
(April 10, 2010)
On Lake Fairview in Orlando, FL. a wake board boat took off right next to the Power Ten Rowing Club Novice 4 boat, the wake swamped it. The coxswain jumped out to help keep the bow from diving deeper into the water. The girls had to lightly row arms only a couple hundred meters to the nearest shore where at they got some much needed help getting the boat out of the water (and water out of the boat) from Lake Brantley Rowing Association's girls!

This is the best I seem to be able to do from my single! I get out there and just fumble with the camera. You can actually make neat patterns in the pollen... this is just the only pattern I can make while fumbling with my camera to get a shot.

Coxed Seven

(April 5, 2010)
This past weekend at the John Hunter Regatta in Lake Lanier, GA, my Men's Novice 8+ A-boat was 400m into the race when 4 seat caught an ejector crab and was thrown out. The coxswain told 5 seat to jettison the oar while the rest of the boat kept rowing. By this time they had fallen back to 5th place. They got back on the horse and managed to stay in the race and their lane. With 500m left they had crawled back into contention for 3rd but had 2 other boats to pass in order to get their. The coxswain called the rate and the sprint up and they managed to fly past the other teams and finish the flight in 3rd. I attached a picture of them in the middle of the sprint at the end of the race.
