Every year, a few members from the Minnesota Boat Club row a little race affectionately known as the "Head of the Hyndman" (named after the rower pictured here). It's just a small challenge amongst friends as a way to blow off some steam from the season and shout a last hurrah before we pull out the docks later that day. Well, this year, it snowed a bit, making both the "racing" and the dock removal more of a challenge than usual.

The Clete Graham
Submitted by: Gerard Quinlan
(November 15, 2010)
Clete Graham and family. "St. Joe's Women's Roeing Team dedicated their new 8 in honor of former coach and past Schuylkill Navy Commodore Clete Graham. The Hawk's newest weapon to their arsenal - a Pocock 8 - was christened Sunday. Clete coached the Women's team for three years and then went on to lead the Schuylkill Navy (the oldest active amateur athletic association in the USA) for 17 years as the commodore and vice-commodore. "Clete transformed the reputation of the rowing community in Philadelphia, that certainly contributed to SJU building our state of the art boathouse" remarked Head Coach Gerry Quinlan. "Besides Cletes' contibrution to St. Joe's as a former coach - his foresight and ability to unite the boathouses on historic Boathouse Row has certainly been felt by St Joe's Women's Rowing."
