Well, when I look around, I see a perfect balance of nature. Everything seems to flow with each other, like the river. It connects us, it pervades us, it unifies us.
Outside of what happened in Boston which showed that all crews could take on the challenge of a harrowing week (Stanford was on lockdown after traveling from California), Radcliffe did just beat the reigning national champions after coming off of a huge win at the HOCR after years of trailing behind the top crews. They just established themselves as the ones to beat.
I think it is really impressive for a crew to come out from being mediocre to beating someone with Stanford's record as a two time in a row national champion. Good for Columbia, but its not like this will make a big difference for how Sprints and IRAs will unfold.
Ideally it should be based on merit, considering how many individuals who read Row2k do not necessarily know these crews personally.
I would also like to note that after the horrifying week Boston has seen, voting Boston Strong for the Radcliffe Lightweights' impressive victory despite the difficult circumstances at home would be the honorable vote. I would not consider any of these votes popularity.
I agree with your comment about the horrifying week in Boston last week. While that supports Radcliffe, doesn't that also mean Northeastern(they are in Boston) and their win earns your vote? I believe they had to postpone the race vs Brown because of last Friday's events--all were in lock down on Friday. Harvard Heavies I understand were delayed in leaving for Princeton for the same reason. Probably some visiting crews, rowing on the Charles, had similar challenges Can we agree that this week's crew of the week are ALL the crews impacted by last week's tragedies?

Impressive wins, now let's see them get a medal at Sprints. I'm doubtful.
