USRowing is pleased to announce the PR3 mixed four with coxswain crew that will represent the United States at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
The crew -- composed of two men, two women and a coxswain -- was chosen through a selection camp process.
This year's boat features the same five athletes who won silver in the event at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Linz, Austria. The U.S. has won six consecutive silver medals in the event at the world level including at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.
Six-time national team member Dani Hansen is the lone returnee from the 2016 Paralympic crew. She is joined by Allie Reilly, Charley Nordin, John Tanguay and Karen Petrick. Reilly and Nordin are two-time world's silver medalists in the event, while Tanguay and Petrick each have won one silver medal during the streak.
The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games are scheduled to take place from August 24 to September 5, with para rowing events beginning August 27.
In total, the U.S. will be sending four boats to the Paralympic Games. The PR1 men's single sculls, PR1 women's single sculls, and PR2 mixed double sculls were selected through the 2020 U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Team Trials รข?? Rowing in April. The entire roster with coaches and staff will be announced next week.
