Outstanding, tight racing at every level characterized the finals of the first NSR, with several finals and places being decided by less than a second, heralding a truly intense final Olympic team selection. The winners:
Women's 1x: Jen Devine
Men's 1x: Xeno Muller
Women's 2-: Lianne Nelson and Katie Hammes
Men's 2-: Bryan Volpenhein and Beau Hoopman
Light Women's 1x: Lisa Schlenker
Light Men's 1x: Gabe Winkler
Check out the complete final results for the order of finish and margins.
In the men's and women's singles sculls, the top 18 finishers earn the right to compete at the Trials. In the light singles and all the pairs, performance at the NSR earns invitations to the final selection camps. See the full selection procedures here: USRowing Olympic Selection procedures.
No events from this weekend automatically send any crews to World Cup or other regattas, or earn spots on the team. At the next NSR, to be held at Mercer in two weeks, the winners of the men's and women's open pair, and the lightweight women's double, will be given the opportunity to compete at the Munich World Cup. If those crews place in the top four at Munich, they may be nominated to compete at the Games without further trials.
