Eelco Meenhorst, head coach of Dutch rowing, announced that he will step down, according to the Dutch rowing federation.
"I have achieved everything I wanted to achieve with the team, my mission is accomplished," he said. "I am proud of what we have achieved together, but for me personally it is time for a new course.
"The past 12 years have been beautiful and valuable. Together we have built something that has shown the world what Dutch rowing is capable of. That was my ambition, and that ambition is now a reality. That is why this is the right time for me to explore a new direction myself."
Under Meenhorst, the Dutch team won four golds, three silvers, and a bronze at the Paris Olympics.
