The Riverside Juniors program is a four-season program focused on sculling. We welcome high school athletes during the summer, fall, winter, and spring seasons. Coaches focus on improving the technical skills, physical fitness, and mental tactics of athletes. We are committed to building the abilities of all of our athletes with an emphasis on safety, fun, and team camaraderie.

The winter session will run from January 2nd to March 10th. The exact schedule is TBD but is likely to be Monday - Friday 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm, Saturday 9:30 am-11:30 am. Applications are due by December 1st or until the program is full. Program fees are $2,000 and are due by Monday, December 18th, or immediately after sign-up (before the start of the program).

The spring session will run from March 12th to June 10th. The exact schedule is TBD but is likely to be Monday - Friday 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm, Saturday 9:30 am-11:30 am. Applications are due by February 1st or until the program is full. Program fees are $3,000 and are due by Monday, February 19th, or immediately after sign-up (before the start of the program). The main focus will be preparing athletes for the Northeast Regional Championship in May. Athletes who qualify will go on to compete at the Youth National Rowing Championships in June.

If you are interested in our summer season, please use this form to apply early. Details are very preliminary. The season will run from June to August. The team will compete in local, regional, and international races, including the Cromwell Cup, Independence Day Regatta, and The Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. 

Racing is encouraged but not required. Therefore, all regatta fees and transit are additional and the responsibility of the parents or guardians.

Our coach

Libby Lichter has been a Riverside member since July 2021. In their time, Libby has contributed to the club as treasurer of the women's sweeps team and as a member of the DEI committee. Prior to joining the coaching staff at RBC, Libby held positions at The Winsor School, Community Rowing Inc., Deerfield Academy, and the Wayland-Weston Rowing Association. While at Tufts University they studied biology as well as child study and human development. When not on the water, Libby enjoys spending time in Deerfield, Ma with their dog, Sir Steven Redgrave.
