CAMBRIDGE - J Records recording artist Gavin DeGraw - with the new radio breakout hit, "I Don't Want To Be," from his debut CD Chariot - will headline the Sunday performance of Row-a-Palooza, a two-day live music festival at Head Of The Charles regatta (HOCR). Row-a-Palooza, presented by Nautica Jeans, is a new component HOCR and will include a line-up of local radio personalities, Boston bands, and will feature contests and main stage events.
Located at the Weeks Footbridge on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, Row-a-Palooza will feature six to eight live performances on October 23 and 24, during the 40th annual rowing of HOCR.
V2 Records' artist Buck 65 will headline Saturday's concert. Southern Signal Records' artists Skye Moore and Johnny Freeman will open for Buck 65.
The weekend concert series was conceived to attract more college-age spectators and young alumni, in addition to traditional rowing enthusiasts, to the Charles River during HOCR weekend, and encourage a more festival-like atmosphere. "Special events today must provide multiple layers of entertainment. A good look at Major League Baseball or the NFL, bears our strategy out," said Executive Director, Frederick Schoch.
In addition to live music, Row-a-Palooza will feature product giveaways by national brand companies such as Nautica Jeans, Best Buy, and others which will be set up along the banks during concert hours.
