USRowing maintains a strong and long tradition of rewarding excellence in rowing. Following a year of unprecedented achievement, the rowing community has designated strong nominees for the 2013 Fan's Choice Awards which are solely nominated and voted on by rowing fans. Vote now!

JUNIOR ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Cicely Madden - CRI
Won gold in the women’s single sculls at the 2013 Youth National Championships. Won silver in the junior women’s quadruple sculls at the 2013 World Rowing Junior Championships. Won gold in the intermediate and senior women’s quadruple sculls at the 2013 USRowing Club National Championships.

Gabriela Purman - Wayland-Weston
Won gold in the U23 women’s double sculls at the 2013 Canadian Henley. Won gold in the junior women’s quadruple sculls at the 2013 USRowing Club National Championships. Won silver in the women’s lightweight eight at the 2013 USRowing Youth National Championships.

Carolina Ratcliff - James Madison
Won gold in the women’s pair at the 2013 Youth National Championships. Won gold in the women’s eight at the 2013 SRAA National Championships. Finished fifth in the women’s eight at the 2013 World Rowing Junior Championships.

Eliza Spilsbury – Kent School
Won gold in the women’s four at the 2013 World Rowing Junior Championships. At the 2013 USRowing Club National Championships, won gold in both the senior pair and the intermediate pair, and won silver in the four. Team captain at Kent, leading the team to medals in all three varsity boats at NEIRA.

Travis Taaffe – Sarasota Crew
Won gold in the men’s varsity eight at the 2013 USRowing Youth National Championships. Finished seventh in the men’s eight at the 2013 World Rowing Junior Championships.
