True, we've already featured what we consider to be one of the "best hacked" wing-nut tools out there--the hacked-off hockey stick tool--and, as a floater, that one may still take the cake for the clumsier folks out there at places that, well, lose a lot of tools.

Still, in the "found this in the shop and it might work really well for something else" category, the Rigger Clamp Wingnut tool is hard to beat. It has that slick, aluminum look. It is compact. Heck, it even gives you some extra torque without needing a long handle. And if a wingnut has corroded or is too tight not to crack the hockey stick version, this one has you covered. The best part? If you stocked up on these little dears as spare parts back in late 80s and 90s when the "pre-Euro rigger" design required these clamps, then you finally have a good use for them.

How do you get one, you ask? Well, we suppose it is possible that you can still buy them someplace as spare parts, but the Rowing Hack way to go is to find one in your boathouse--or to ask the wisest boatman you know if he has an extra... lucky for you, those guys never throw anything out.
