With 2024 being an Olympic year, one of the unique events on the calendar was the Final Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta (FOPQR), which is lovingly referred to as, 'The Regatta of Death.' It gets this name since it's the last chance to qualify for the Olympics and requires a top two placing in each event to advance to the Paris Games.

With these high stakes come extreme emotion on both ends of the spectrum and the rowers never fail to bring the intensity. This year, the event was once again held in Lucerne, Switzerland and the day of the finals was cool and rainy. Highlights for the American crews included the M1x, M2x, W4x, and M8+ all finishing high enough to qualify for the Olympic Games.
