There is lots of launching at shared regatta docks as we hit the busy end of the season, and there's a hack for folks carrying the oars down along with the boat: The Oar Bundle Bungee.
We've spotted this one at a bunch of junior races this year, and there is nothing like a Flicks-day full of back-and-forth trips to the dock to inspire some innovation.
Wrapping a bungee around a set of oars makes them a far more manageable package, and if you use the rigger bungees that are sitting around doing nothing while the riggers are on the boat, then you are doing some smart reusing. (Read our cool Rowing Hack history on the original Rigger Bungees here).
You can do a similar trick with the Oar-Carry Strap Hack but we are betting that the bungees prove quicker and easier, plus they will certainly fit in a coach's pocket a lot easier while the crew paddles off.
So if you want to carry those rowing sticks in a slick set, keep those bungees in play--and avoid being that guy who shambles along with a shabby bundle.
Do you have any slick tricks for getting gear to the dock, and back? If so, share your tips--and hacks--in the comments below.
If you have a great rowing hack to suggest for future inclusion, then please send it to us, and we will feature your idea in a future column.
