This is definitely one regatta's version of National Teamers going out for the final with a flag in the boat for the medal dock pics.

It's Not a Rumor

Before we get to actual rumors, here is one thing that is absolutely true: The first person to show up at the line (except for that one program) at a regatta that we are photographing wearing this gets a free row2k shirt and hat, so, um, get yours today?

Rumors & Hearsay from the Week that Was

• "Who ya got: Minnesota or Drexel?" -- Philly firemen on safety patrol at the Vails, passing the time by making bets on the races amongst themselves; it's been a while since the days of betting on races on the Schuylkill!
• Are countless full volume f-bombs required when making multiple trips to medals dock at big men's races? If 2021 IRA and 2022 Sprints are evidence, then yes. These are family events, so maybe we should think about fucking dousing the fucking F-bombs (and if that reads inappropriately, you see our point).
• Not all Trophies are real Trophies: let's hear it for the "Stand-in Cup" which made a lot of appearances on the Vails dock if you look carefully through the galleries, but which gave every crew something to hold, and raise!

The row2k Top Results of the Week

Important results this week? Pretty much all of them but if you prefer to skip the results page:

• Men's Sprints 1V Medals went Yale, Brown, Dartmouth for the HWTs and Yale, Navy, Georgetown for the LWTs. Yale won the HWT Rowe Cup and the LWT Jope Cup wound up a 3 way tie, after Columbia's 2V and 3V won out and Navy earned 1V and 2V silver -- Yale's 1V win broke the tie
• 11 D1 Women's Champions were crowned, covered exhaustively in our NCAA section
• Pac 12 Men's racing went #1 Cal, then Washington, then Stanford.
• Western Washington Women won the GNAC Championship in D2
• UC San Diego Men won the Western Sprints
• More HS Eights won scholastic championships this week: New Trier's Men and Women at the Midwest Scholastic Championship and Wakefield's Men and Women at the Virginia State Championships.
• More Regional Champs are emerging in the Youth 8's ahead of Nationals in June: the Sarasota Men and St. Andrew's RC Women at the Southeast Youth Championship, and the PNRA/Mercer Women and St. Joe's Prep at the Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship.
