Coming into the last race of the 2021 NCAA Championships, Texas needed to win, Stanford to finish in second, and Washington third to force a three-way tie atop the point standings. Then the tie breaker would go to Texas. Stanford lead for the first half of the race, but Texas came through to get the win and the finish order it needed to win the DI team championship.
