2002 Girls First Boat: An Excerpt from 'More Than Rowing, Kent School Boat Club, The First 100 Years'
April 21, 2021
Peter Mallory

In a projected two volumes, More Than Rowing covers 100 Kent boys crews between 1922 and 2021 and 47 girls crews stretching from 1973 to 2021. Each year was populated with young athletes living, learning, and growing, and their stories are worth remembering and preserving.

This week I present the 2002 Girls section in an intermediate form, not yet fully edited or proofed, not yet turned over to the page layout artist. After Kent Boys had competed at Henley upwards of thirty times, this was the first Kent Girls crew to make the trip, and a memorable trip it was.
