Everyone gets jittery on race days; some folks even get the jitters right before they race. Luckily for most of us, taking care of number 1 is typically pretty straightforward, even on race day (see here, or here).
If things get more complicated than that, though, it can be tricky; thankfully, a publication from another sport researched and wrote about it so we don't have to.
