PB alert ? Last @concept2inc Spring Challenge test this week was the beloved 2k. My previous best was done the last time I actually did a 2k test on a Concept 2 back early 2015 after a NZ summer in the single. In comparison to today, I'm obviously down on volume having been isolated in the garage on lockdown for 6 weeks but up on erg specific training. In 2015 I was just under 90kg now just over 90kg but I'm not sure if that additional weight is fat or muscle. Thoughts on the effort... After my 4 min test last week I was hoping for a 5:42 but just had nothing left to increase the pace in the last 500. Rated pretty high for me, my guess is in 2015 I was about 35spm but with lots of erg work a higher rate felt OK. Pleased with the resolve it took to go after it alone in the garage. Unfortunately @lizziebond_ was at work (? doctors and nurses) so no cheer squad. Some context... By my count it puts me 6th all time in NZ behind @robwaikato @mahe.drysdale @kiwipair_eric @gbgramm and @camwebster. Chapeau to JDS, I cannot fathom going 2 sec/500m faster.

Although we can't be together out on the water, taking care of our dock and beautiful #connecticutriver is a process that doesn't ever stop. Each time the river floods and recedes, it brings all sorts of natural debris and human trash from upstream. Here's some before and after of recent cleanup efforts. We like to think our local ? and beaver friends, and the river and ocean ?? appreciate it! . FYI: Our biggest trash items on the river are plastic and glass bottles, followed by styrofoam pieces.
