Staying active during a stay-at-home order is no small feat! But don't worry, NRC parent Stacy Sines-Smith has some tips for you and your family.? Stacy's daughter Grace is currently on the novice girls squad and won gold with her teammate Hannah in their first virtual regatta last weekend!? ? "Week six and all residents in my home have become stir crazy. We miss our daily routine of school, work, and rowing. I think we have all realized we are co-dependent athletes. I?m used to running with my friends, Grace is used to being pushed by her teammates/ coaches and Wayne misses the camaraderie on the football field. It?s always nice to have a friend depending on you to show up to a workout or a voice next to you cheering you on when you are tired. We?ve definitely learned to improvise during the quarantine. Here are our top three tips for working out from home. When I was just starting to become more serious about rowing photography (2010), I got an email from a guy asking to use this photo for an article about him in his hometown newspaper. He introduced himself, and that he was very excited that they beat the Danes in the Masters Eight. I told him he didn't need the intro. Everyone who rows knew who Ed Winchester was. I was pretty excited that he knew who I was! Our subsequent interactions proved two things--Ed was a great guy, and he loved the sport. He will be missed by so many. Heartfelt condolences to his family, the @rowingnews family, and the countless others whose lives he'd impacted.
