The 2017 USA Men's Eight outperformed many peoples expectations at the World Championships, winning the silver medal behind Germany. The 2nd place finish was the highest finish in the event for the Americans since winning the world title in 2005.

The crew, consisting of Tim Aghai, Yohann Rigogne, Alex Karwoski, Jordan Vanderstoep, Tom Peszek, Nick Mead, Andrew Reed, Pat Eble, and coxswain Julian Venonsky placed second behind Germany, who earlier in the season set the World Best Time. Watch the World Championship final here.
