- Evaluate and recruit athletically talented and academically qualified scholar-athletes supporting the University’s mission and philosophy and monitor, oversee, and support scholar-athlete academic success and degree progress.
- Responsible for the organization and implementation of regular practice sessions and competitions in developing, instructing, and motivating scholar-athletes in fundamentals, techniques, and strategies to achieve a high-level performance individually and as a team.
- Coordinate administrative operations in adhering to all athletic and University policies and protocols, documentation, travel arrangements, equipment/supplies upkeep, and orders, camp/clinic organization and implementation, and community service.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the sports operating budget provided by the university. Develop fundraising activities and events to supplement the budget needs of the program.
Responsible for demonstrating a commitment to and complying with the policies and guidelines established by the NCAA, affiliated rowing organizations, University, and Athletics Department for conducting all program activities.
- Demonstrate establishing a good rapport and effective working relationship with scholar-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, alumni, and the general public.
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- First Aid/CPR, and anyone born on or after January 1, 1988, is required to either have successfully completed a National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) approved boating education course or have passed an equivalent course or temporary certificate examination. Additionally, they must have in their possession a boating education ID card and a photo identification card before operating a vessel with a motor of ten horsepower or more in Florida.
- Previous collegiate varsity or club rowing experience as a coach or athlete.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience required in the area of expertise
