2012 Outlook "Spring 2012 has Willamette competing at 6 regattas throughout the West Coast. The 2012 racing season starts in early March with the Governor’s Cup Regatta. We will be racing against the University of Puget Sound at their home course on American lake in Tacoma, WA. This is a highly competitive regatta and will be the first test of our speed against a not only a fellow Northwest Collegiate Rowing Conference school, but also a perennial rowing power in the nation. Our spring regatta schedule begins to accelerate late-March with the Cascade Sprints Regatta, followed by a busy April comprised of a three conference-level regattas culminating with the running of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships in Sacramento, California.
"However, since the start of the fall season, the men’s and women’s squads have trained hard with their sights set on post-season regattas. For both squads, the opportunity to represent Willamette at the national level, at the IRA Championships and the NCAA Championships, respectively, is the driving motivation this year.
"This spring, both squads are looking to continue the momentum established from our successful spring season in 2011. With the cores from the 2011 WV8 and W2V8 serving as the backbone of the 2012 women’s team, we are looking to capitalize on the strong leadership and experience from the upper-classmen and the raw talent of the novice squad to propel the team to a successful and competitive racing season. On the men’s side, we are returning three rowers from our 2011 V8, and they will undoubtedly provide an invaluable source of inspiration and knowledge for a burgeoning and athletic men’s novice squad.
"Through continued hard work and dedication to the team, 2012 should amount to a memorable season for Willamette University!"

2010 Outlook "The Willamette University women’s crew had a strong fall finish and plans to carry this energy forward to the spring. Our young team has a solid foundation of sophomores, juniors and seniors, and is welcoming in our energetic freshmen to their first spring season. Land training has paid off well, as the team looks strong, excited to start the spring season and ready to get on the water for some fun and to pull hard and go fast!"
