2012 Outlook “We are a bit shy on varsity eight racing experience this year and we are still trying to figure out who is going to step up and win those seats. We race in an unforgiving league and we are going to have keep our heads up and keep trying to gain speed all the way up to the IRA.”

2010 Outlook “Syracuse is led by Captain Mark Vyzas and his fellow seniors but they are supported by strong Junior and Sophomore classes. The Orange return 7 from last year’s varsity that finished 8th at the IRA--including World U-23 Silver Medalist Mike Gennaro. The challenges for the Orange this spring include an aggressive racing schedule that features trips to the San Diego Crew Classic, a first ever trip to Opening Day in Seattle and the always tough EARC Cup Season.”

2012 Outlook "The entire complexion and competitive nature of the team has taken a tremendous turn for the better. Our physiology and technique has us in a much better place to compete this coming season. Our fall results, which saw us beat crews from BU, NU, Cornell and Brown has us excited to line up against top quality crews this spring. Because of the youth of our squad, we still have many lessons to learn about racing at the highest level"

2011 Outlook "This spring Syracuse will begin a new era under the leadership of Coach Justin Moore. Prior to starting at Syracuse Moore Coached at Yale University and Williams College. At Yale, Moore's 1996 heavyweight freshman crew won the eastern sprints and went on to win the Temple Challenge Cup at the Royal Henley Regatta. Moore's crews at Williams won 6 of the possible 9 DIII NCAA titles since its inception in 2002, including 5 in a row from 2006-2010. Moore also led the US Junior Sweep women in 2009 and 2010, winning gold in the Jrw8+ in 2009 and winning two medals for the first time in the history of the US Junior System in 2010 (wjr4- = silver; wjr8+ = silver). He hopes to continue his winning ways and is very pleased with the progress the squad has made in their short time together."

2010 Outlook "Syracuse enters the spring season with high expectations and a fierce commitment to make this year extraordinary. Strong upper-class leadership and athleticism combined with a very talented group of sophomores and freshmen give the orange women 4 solid classes of rowers and coxswains giving them depth which they have not seen before. The Orange have implemented a new training program that has made them fitter and technically more sound which they will count on to increase their speed over the spring. This training, along with a very competitive race schedule that takes them across the country and back, looks to make this season one of the most exciting and successful in Syracuse history."
