"With seven weeks to go before our first race against Navy, the team is in a good spot. We just finished up a productive training trip in Tampa and we have open water on Lake Carnegie in February for the first time in several years. We face very tough opponents on the road this year in Navy, Yale, and Harvard so we are doing everything we can to prepare ourselves."

2012 Outlook
"The entire squad had a strong showing in the fall races and we have been working hard indoors since coming off of the water in November. The senior class has stepped up in their leadership role and the addition of last year’s freshman class to the varsity ranks has had a positive impact on the team’s standards. We have a large Sophomore class this year, and their development and performance will be important to the success of this year’s team. I have been impressed with the squad’s hard work and attitude. The heavyweight league looks to be tight again this year, with several solid crews in the mix at the top. Our traditional schedule looks very competitive this year and we can expect to see strong opponents every weekend throughout the regular season."

"Last year was a record breaking year. It was an amazing season without one loss in the varsity eight in both the fall and spring racing seasons. There were many hard fought races and lessons learned. This season is a mystery. The team has been working hard and as always has more to accomplish. Our senior class looks to make an impact in every boat. We have had a mild winter so more time on the water than usual. We look forward to a very competitive racing season. As always the league looks strong."
