2024 Outlook - "The N150 Midshipmen are once again looking forward to our historic and challenging cup racing season this spring. The EARC league, and US Lightweight rowing nationally, top-to-bottom look to be as competitive as ever. We kick off the season against the defending national champions Princeton at home, and test ourselves 6 weeks straight from there toward the Eastern Sprints/IRA. This year's team is youth-heavy, with our First Class (seniors) making up the smallest Commissioning Class we've had in a while. That said, they have done an outstanding job of leading a strong Plebe group (walk-on's and recruits), and we know they are motivated for a positive finish to their careers on The Yard. Go Goats."
-Head Coach Shawn Bagnall

2023 Outlook - "The athletes in our program returned to campus this year motivated, and led by an outstanding group of First Class (1/C) Midshipmen. Taking nothing for granted, we are grateful for the opportunity to train for one of the most competitive regular season racing schedules in our league. 6 weeks of cup racing, including a possible stop at the 2nd annual National Collegiate Lightweight Invitational in April, will help season our young squad for historically tight racing at the Sprints and IRA. Go Goats."

Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - N/A
2021 Seniors - 10
2021 Outlook - "The Lightweight Men at the Naval Academy have continued to roll with the punches this academic year, and have kept our focus on "controlling the controllables". Spring 2021 at a glance looks to be a bit more promising for racing than Spring 2020, although the team will once again miss many (if not all) of our traditional cup races. That said, we are humbled by the opportunity that our administration is affording us to get out on the race course, both in Annapolis and at some regional sites. Not wasting any opportunities to improve, the Midshipmen on our team have committed to being better athletes, individuals, and Naval Officers on the other side of this pandemic. Gratitude has ruled each day that we have been able to train and do what we love. Hold Fast. Stay True. Go Goats."

2020 Seniors - 13
2020 Outlook - "After last spring--when all of our boats finished higher at both Sprints and IRAs--and a great fall with this year's group, we are looking forward to a fast spring and the chance to keep climbing the ranks in the very tight Eastern Sprints league. We graduated our biggest class in 150 years last spring, but the current team captain returned with a silver medal in the U23 eight for the USA and five of our guys helped power the mixed Navy 8 to its Henley win for the King's Cup. Their focus and dedication this winter has the team ready to fill the shoes left by the Class of 2019, and we are excited to open our season against Princeton here on the Severn in March."
-Head Coach Rob Friedrich

2018 Finish
- Varsity 8 -13th at Sprints, 15th at IRAs

2019 Seniors - 21
2019 Outlook - "We have a huge senior class of walk-ons and recruits alike who have pushed the development of the team the past four years, and we are returning our entire Varsity 8 line-up, so we are looking to hit that next level of speed. Our junior class features a U23 rower and four Mids who raced in the 1V last year, and that means that the team's youth has the kind of experience that will push the squad both this season and next year."
-Head Coach Rob Friedrich
Head Coach - Rob Friedrich, 6th year
2017 Finish
- Varsity 8 - 14th at Sprints, 16th at IRAs

- Varsity 4 - 8th at IRAs
Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - 5
2018 Seniors - 13
2018 Outlook - "The squad is young again this year, but with 5 returners from the 2017 1V and lots of underclass guys who made the IRA Grand Finals in a great 3V, we have a lot more experience to bring to bear in 2018. There is work to do but we have a full race schedule, starting with the San Diego Crew Classic, to develop our speed throughout the season, and tremendous depth in the boathouse. Our Firstie Class has provided exceptional leadership to all our young guys and we are excited to see who can step up this year and make fast boats for Navy, from the 1V all the way to the 6V."
