2024 Outlook - "Marist enters our 63rd campaign on the Hudson. Recent changes at the college, within the staff and on the team mark 2024 as a turning point for the crew and we are extremely excited to see what the future holds. The results from this fall were not impressive but don't be surprised to see some signs of life this spring AND reinforcements are on the way!"

2023 Outlook - "An extremely young crew this year with 12 seniors departing in 2022. The team is progressing nicely and the attitude and willingness to work and learn is the highest it's been in years. We'll be doing a lot of racing and gaining experience exponentially throughout the 2023 racing season as we learn the consistency and professionalism needed to succeed at the level we've come to expect."

2022 Outlook - "2021 offered us the opportunity to take a step back and examine what we do as a program and to set our sites on new goals. Our large senior class has been instrumental in bringing a fresh attention to detail while simultaneously enjoying each day for the opportunities to train and compete together. Fall results showed that we will have the speed to compete against our usual rivals but as Attila the Hun once said, 'superficial goals yield superficial results.'
"The crew is determined to push on to the next stage in our development as a program and our winter training scheme has been entirely revamped to tackle fresh horizons and push our athletes to another level. Meanwhile, the underclassmen are showing they will be a force to be reckoned with. We enter our 7th decade with our sights set firmly on the future."

2021 Outlook - "On Dec 21st 1944 during the battle of the bulge, the US 101st Airborne Division lay trapped and surrounded by German forces in the city of Bastogne in France. With food, ammunition and medical supplies all running in short supply and soldiers facing terrible winter conditions with none of the appropriate equipment, the unit expected to be overrun at any moment. That day, Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe, responsible for the division, received demands from the Germans to surrender immediately or face annihilation. His reply was sent back as a single word; NUTS."

2020 Outlook - "Three years ago we said that this year we'd be rebuilding after the graduation of era defining classes in 2018 and 2019. The current squad had different plans and blew out of the gate this fall with some really strong race performances in October. The potential for an amazing spring lies in the offing but we will need to convert fall potential into spring speed and bring a consistency and steadiness that was missing in 2019. These men are up for the challenge and we can't wait to see what we can produce at all levels this fall."

2019 Outlook - "The Red Foxes returned to the IRA for the first time in a decade in 2018 and the team is determined to make this the standard moving forward. An indomitable spirit of competitiveness has gripped the boat house since the arrival of our senior class in 2015 and a talented freshman crew is seeking to learn their secrets to carry into the future. We are determined to break into new territory this year and so have committed to probably the most aggressive racing calendar in program history. Race this crew at your own risk. The field mouse is fast but the Red Fox sees at night!"

2018 Seniors - 7
2018 Outlook - "Marist returns 8 of its 9 varsity athletes for the second year in a row to present a mature boat with substantial racing experience together. The loss of five seniors from the 2V8 has created opportunities for underclassmen to make a statement on this year’s squad. With NIRC results vastly improved in 2017, the team has proven eager to avoid any plateauing, and once again scores, technique, and fall results indicate a faster crew from top to bottom than last season. Living and training in the historic home of the IRA provides ample motivation for post season aspirations. Don’t read this book by its cover; these men are dangerous and spoiling for a fight!!!"

2017 Outlook - "Marist returns nearly all of its, still young, Varsity 8. Consistent coaching, determined young talent, and strong leadership are continuing to push the team to break recent barriers to success. Fall results, ERG Scores, and Technical Improvements all suggest a vastly improved squad. Consistency, maturity, and mental toughness will be the key to converting these fitness and technical gains into improved results. This crew is hungry for the challenge!"

Just a handful of our current athletes have ever been there to train, so everyone is excited about it to say the least! Following spring training camp, our race schedule is the most competitive we have had to battle test us in preparation for championship weekend in May."
