2017 Outlook - "The Philadelphia University Rowing team and coaching staff are really excited about the upcoming championship season. We began the 2016-17 season by moving to Crescent Boathouse on Boathouse Row. We love our new home and the energy of the other universities and clubs on the lower Schuylkill. We have a young, fit & fast team. Fortunately, the girls have a great team dynamic too. We have been documenting our season, which shows their personality & training, on instagram.
"Coach Jeff Cutler returned as the assistant coach for his 8th year. He has a precise & detailed coaching style and challenges the women while running and on the erg. This year, Coach Nancy Olewnik joined the team as an assistant coach, focusing on the freshmen. She is excited to be home in Philadelphia and adds a fresh energy to the team. As the head coach, I believe each of our coaching styles work really well together. We have complimentary coaching styles & personalities and truly enjoy working with each other.
"Throughout the season, the team has made continuous improvements to their fitness and rowing technique. This winter, we've have been using indoor tanks and getting on the water more frequently. Our goal is to win the NCAA D2 Championship in the V8 and V4, and continue to build a strong team for subsequent years."
