2011 Outlook "This year's Columbia Heavyweight team has been fun to coach. We graduated a group of guys in 2010 who won some very big races for Columbia. Without them this 2011 team is unproven, but the strongest and deepest that we have had at Columbia. We are taking a total program approach and making sure that everyone is contributing at every level. That is how Columbia can compete. We look forward to getting some much-needed racing experience during the regular season as we ramp up to the Sprints and IRA."

- Won Childs Cup, Blackwell Cup, Stevenson Trophy, Alumni Cup, and Collins Cup

2010 Seniors - 9
2010 Outlook "The Columbia Heavyweights look forward to another strong spring building on our recent success. This fall and winter the guys have done a good job of training hard and smart, and they have been surpassing their fitness benchmarks almost to a man. We are a well balanced team this year with first varsity contenders coming from three classes. Our JV has shown improved speed so far this year, and we expect them and our strong freshman class to challenge the Varsity and make for a great training environment. One goal of ours is to build speed throughout the spring and maintain that momentum through the Championship season better than we did last year."

2011 Outlook "Coming off of our team's first nationally-ranked season, Columbia Women's Rowing will build on that success in 2011 with a bigger, deeper, and fitter squad. Our race schedule features the usual suspects in the Ivy League and EAWRC, but we're also adding new races with Bucknell, Tennessee, and Virginia. Ultimately we're aiming for competitive performances for all boats at the EAWRC Championship and the opportunity to represent Columbia at the NCAA Championship in May."

2010 Outlook "Our team has a mix of rowing experience, from very seasoned rowers to true novices, who are all contributing to the intensity of our training. The influx of talent in recent seasons has made an immediate and visible impact on our speed and polish.
"We are excited by our progress thus far in 2010, building off of 2009's success that includes a sweep in the 8+'s events at the GW Invitational and a fourth-place finish at the EAWRC Championship for our novice 8+. The team looks forward to a challenging and competitive spring season, with the aim of a national ranking and perhaps an NCAA bid."

2010 Finish
- Varsity 8: 8th at EARC Sprints
Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - 4
2011 Seniors - 3
2011 Outlook "The great thing about our league is that you just never know. All of our competitors are motivated and hard working, so in that we aren't unusual. We'll use our natural advantages - February water time, two Florida trips, and a good home training environment - to develop our speed this spring. We can't change inherent athletic ability or team depth. I'm sure there are bigger, more talented teams out there, but I'm confident our team can match anyone in the things we can control - toughness, skill, training, and attitude. Those components are necessary, but sometimes not adequate, to create a winning crew. We'll see if it is enough in April and May."

2010 Outlook "We had some bright spots in fall racing, while dealing with a few key injuries. The guys are working hard on the erg, but we will be an underpowered crew this spring. Most of our erg strength graduated with last year's senior class. We will need to rely on skill and racing savvy to do well against the faster crews in the league. Fortunately this group rows well together, and we have plenty of early water time to make progress. We are about to return to Florida for our Spring Break trip. We got a lot done down there in January, and are excited to go back."
