Distance: 1500m
Conditions: Racing started early and was shortened due to wind. Heats and semis eliminated. Raced in straight finals. Tailwind increased from 15mph at beginning of racing to 30mph with gusts up to 40mph when racing was called off. Stake boat anchors failed, so races were started as close to fair and even as possible. First 1000m of course relatively unaffected by chop; last 500m was heavy chop with white caps. Several results affected by conditions. Order of racing was 1st 8 -> 5th/6th 8s. Fours and MS races canceled.
Comments: No times were taken; only margins were recorded. Thanks to all the coaches, parents, and rowers for working to overcome very poor conditions and get several races down the course before it became unsafe to compete.
