Conditions: Conditions were fair, with a powerful direct headwind throughout racing, reported as a steady 16 mph, with occasional and sometimes extended more powerful gusts.
Water was consistently choppy with lengthy stretches of small whitecaps.
Comments: The powerful headwind made it challenging and slow going for for all crews, although the starts themselves went very smoothly, and races were on time. the crews and coxswains did a great job coping with the wind.
In the 4th boat race, all three crews steered courses well to starboard, finishing 2 -3 lanes over from where they had begun. Also in that race, the Groton crew caught a crab with about 10 strokes to go.
A hard but strong days racing for everyone; many thanks to Groton and Nobles for making the trip and helping things go smoothly.
