Distance: 1800 meters
Conditions: Races were rowed into a very strong head wind and head current, with more persistent gusts of 20-30 mph in the WV8 race. Wind gusts were especially strong at 1000 meters and 1300 meters into the race.
Comments: WV8 race started cleanly but after 150 meters both crews clashed oars. Union stopped rowing first and RIT was called to stop. The crews were called back to the start. No penalties or warnings were given due to the strong gusts of wind that made aligning and steering very difficult in the start.
RIT's WN8 raced Union's WJV8 with several novices in their boat.
