Distance: 2000 meters
Conditions: Beautiful Sunny Day on Claytor Lake. Light headwind throughout races. High 58 degrees Fahrenheit, low 23 degrees Fahrenheit.
Comments: This race was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 9th however due to weather conditions, the race needed to be pushed back to Sunday, April 10th. Liberty University and American University also planned on attending, however due to date constraints and other unforeseen issues, both of them could not attend the invitational. The "Waterfield Cup" was awarded to The University of Mary Washington with 22 total points. Virginia Commonwealth University came in second with a total of 20 points, Virginia Tech in third with a total of 12 points, and JMU in fourth with 1 point.
This cup was originally named the Bogen Cup founded in 1994, however after the passing of a freshman rower at Virginia Tech, Clayton W. Waterfield in February 2004, the cup was renamed the "Waterfield Cup". Last to hold the cup was William & Mary from the 2012 Waterfield Cup at Claytor Lake. The Cup will now be held by The University of Mary Washington until the next Waterfield Cup is held.
