High School/Scholastic: MAPL Championships, Boys Crew: Blair, Hill, Hun, Lawrenceville, Peddie
May 5, 2018; Caspersen Rowing Center, Mercer Lake, NJ

Submitted by Benjamin T. Wright.

Distance: 1500M
Conditions: Light cross wind throughout the afternoon of racing, which ran from 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM.
Comments: The Boys Crew MAPL Championship is determined by the results of the B1V4+, B2V4+, and B3V4+ races and a weighted points system. At the conclusion of racing, Lawrenceville's and Peddie's total points were tied for first place. The tie was broken in Peddie's favor, as Peddie's B1V4+ had beaten Lawrenceville's B1V4+. Congratulations to Peddie for winning the 2018 MAPL Championships! The Boys Novice Eight race was stopped and restarted twice, each time bringing the trailing crews even with the leading crew, which was Lawrenceville. The first restart happened in the first 500M, after Peddie caught a boat stopping crab. The second restart happened at the end of the second 500M after Hill and Lawrenceville B clashed blades and Hill caught a boat stopping crab.
