Conditions: Increasing tail wind as racing progressed. Floating starts. Order of racing: MV8, WV8 Heats, MN4, WV4, WN4, MV4, MN8, WV8 Petite, WV8 Grand
Comments: Progression out of WV8 heats was initially top 2 and next 2 fastest times; floating starts eliminated this progression so coaches unanimously agreed to send heat places 3-5 to petite final only. Additionally, some coaches expressed concern about the accuracy of the split times between finishers (NOT the finish order) in Heat 2 and the Grand Final in Women's Varsity 8. That was another consideration in the decision.
