Baron Henley, Njörðr Single Sculls Challenge
September 16, 2017 - Potomac River
Submitted by Stuart Sloan
Conditions: Through the morning there was moderate chop from a 5-10mph tail wind, moderate current, and heavy boat traffic. By the final, traffic and wind had subsided for a fair race.
The course started in the first arch on Key Bridge from Virginia, finishing a bit past the rocks.
The District Station enjoyed a better tail wind and stronger current, though choppier water. The Commonwealth Station was more sheltered, but had to negotiate with an outcropping of rocks in the final 100 meters.
