Deerfield Academy Boys vs. The Gunnery Boys
May 10, 2003 - Connecticut River, Deerfield MA
Submitted by Booth Kyle
Distance: @1500 meters
Conditions: Strong tail current, flat water, variable winds -- a fast course today.
Comments: First boat race started on line; Second boat race started @ 1 length past the line; Third boat race started on line; Fourth boat race started @ 1 length past the line.
In every single race, each crew in Lane 2 clipped a buoy on the port side at @ 800 meters down. Some of these crews were impacted more than others (the crews were D1, G2, D3, G4). The Gunnery 4th crew had the most significant problem with the buoy. At impact, D4 had a slight open water lead.
It was a great racing day and all coxswains deserve credit.
