In the II V, Princeton led the race from start to finish.

In the Grand Final, Princeton led off the line by about two feet over Washington, who took over the lead sometime after the settle, and led the rest of the way. U. Mass moved into second in the second 500, and Princeton remained in third for the bronze, despite a surge by Brown early in the final 500 meters, which Princeton countered to best Brown by a few seats. Note the distance between second and fifth, a total of only 3.8 seconds.
