Varsity 8 UVa 6:37.3 UMass 6:37.7 Comments: In the Varsity race, UMass got out to an early lead, with UVA inching back into them, holding approximately a two-seat lead at the 1000m mark. UMass looked to be rowing several beats beneath UVA, and moved well through the sprint, which UVA just managed to hold off. Both Jim Dietz (UMass) and Kevin Sauer (UVA) characterized the contest as "a great race."
