Conditions: Water a little quick due to rain the night before. Water flat and the wind very calm. Little overcast but warm and little drizzle off and on.
Varsity 8 Rutgers 5:50.3 MIT 5:58.3 In the 1V race MIT and Rutgers off the line together. During the settle into race cadence MIT gets out two three seats. Rutgers also down due to the start stagger. As the crews pass the 1000m MIT and Rutgers are even with Rutgers moving high and hard. Rutgers continues to press getting open water with 750 to go. Second Varsity Rutgers 6:06.4 MIT 6:24.8 In 2V race Rutgers off the line and MIT staying only with them for the first 15 strokes. Rutgers loses a few seats in the settle when MIT makes a push after the first 300m. Rutgers slowly starts to walk and has clear water by the 1000m and push it out more to a 15 second lead with 500m to go. First Freshman 8 Rutgers 6:01.4 MIT 6:10.9 In the 1F race, Rutgers has a very good start, with MIT following closing behind. MIT does not let the fast start by Rutgers phase them and stays about four seats down through the first 1000m. Rutgers makes a strong push again at a 1000m to open up the lead and rows a steady pace the rest of the way.
