The LBRA truck coming back from Club Nationals and Senior/Junior World Championship Trials in NJ. One boat is already off, but it originally had 9 singles, 2 doubles, and 1 quad on top, plus oars for all the boats, riggers, slings, and other regatta necessities.

Taken in 2009 at Eton Dorney during Yale Women's Crew's Henley Regatta Trip. Tess Gerrand and Taylor Ritzel, both 2012 Olympians, are silhoutted in the picture. I vividly remember them standing at the dock taking a couple of minutes to reflect on their goal of racing there in 2012. They did it!

During Row-the-Prouty, the crews stopped for a rest, brunch and music at the 10 mile turn around and kept the dock masters busy all morning. 1Xs and 2Xs were carried ashore to slings while the 4s and 8s were provided complimentary valet parking.

Vesper Boat Club won 9 events and 17 crews boasted medals at this week's USRowing Club Nationals. They won multiple medals in 3 events; sweeping the intermediate light men's 1x, finishing 1st and 2nd in the Senior women's 2x and finishing 2nd and 3rd in the Senior Light men's 1x. The Senior and intermediate men's and women's 8+s all won their events. Vesper won the Overall and women's points trophy for the regatta.

We store our boats on racks in the woods and today one of our middleschool boys noticed this tree frog clinging to his backstay just before he boated out. PETA Notice: The frog was returned to the woods and no frogs were injured in the making of this photo.

Row for Juvenile Diabetes Research Fourndation

Athletes from Canisius High School and McQuaid Jesuit are rowing the Erie Canal in coxed 4+s from Buffalo to Albany this week to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The trip is 340 miles, and they departed last Thursday (6/14) and are going to finish the row tomorrow (6/21) in Waterford, NY just north of Albany. They have surpassed their initial goal of $50,000 to donate to JDRF and are working towards $60,000. They are currently at $54,170 raised.
