worst insult.. id have to say in the heats of NEIRA's last year, when the girls in another boat, were all going 'Oh my God they're so small" we maybe small (almost all of us are lightweight or 5 lbs. or less over lightweight) but we can kick ass and we kicked theirs with 2 boat lengths of open water!
The 3 seat can be VERY important. Every once in a while they need to grab the bow's oar and pry the boat over at the start of a race so not to have the boat pulled off the stake boat. What would we do without the 3 seat:)
To that end you could have a Bowtard, twotard, threetard, fourtard...I like the engineroomtards, bowpairtards, stroketard (in somecases), coxtard.
Referring to the fact that the three seat has literally no specific job in the boat but to pull, and usually the most expendable member as well (usually along with four seat). So, with little intellectual involvement in a race, they would therefore be dubbed the dumbest member of a boat. But to be fair, we can all say that the other pairs have specific jobs to accomplish, but aside from the stroke, there isn't much thinkin' going on by any rowers during a race.
