Washington, Cornell and Stanford Top the USRowing Week One Polls
April 1, 2015
The University of Washington held the top of the USRowing first regular season varsity men’s eight poll, while Cornell University topped the lightweight men’s varsity eight poll and Stanford University captured the lightweight women’s varsity eight poll.
Washington earned eight first-place votes and the University of California earned five first-place votes to place second. Harvard University had one first-place vote and took the third spot. Princeton University and Yale University rounded out the top five in the men’s varsity eight poll.
In the lightweight men’s poll, Cornell scored six first-place votes to take the top ranking. Princeton had one first-place vote and was second, followed by Harvard University. Columbia University earned one first-place vote and finished fourth and the United States Naval Academy was fifth.
Stanford earned four first-place votes and placed first in the lightweight women’s eight poll. Harvard-Radcliffe University earned four first-place votes and was second, followed by Boston University. The University of Wisconsin and Bucknell University rounded out the top five.
