American Collegiate Rowing Association Poll April 8, 2008 This is the inaugural coach's poll for the American Collegiate Rowing Association (ACRA). The ACRA is the organization focused on establishing a national championship event for collegiate rowing teams who are not eligible to compete in the NCAA and eventually the IRA Championships. The first ACRA national championship regatta is slated for May 24-25 on the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City.
The inaugural poll of the ACRA programs has resulted in top honors going to the University of Virginia in the Men's Varsity 8. Also claiming first place votes are second ranked Michigan, and #4 UCLA.
In the Women's Varsity 8 Grand Valley State University snags the #1 ranking with Purdue University garnering six first place votes and finishing second overall.
After their San Diego Crew Classic win the University of California claim first place in the Men's Lightweight 8 poll. The top ranked Women?s Lightweight 8 is Duquesne University.
The next regular season poll will be released on April 16, 2008.
