1. What inspired you to go to your first rowing practice; was there anything memorable about it?
I went to rowing practice because I didn't have anything else going on after school. Our first few rows were spent scraping every dock in Ventnor with our oars.
2. Was there a practice, race or other event when you fell in love with the sport, or when you knew you might not be too bad at rowing? When you thought you could make the national team?
There wasn't a singular event that had me hooked. Instead I just kept competing at each level.
3. Best race/practice, worst race/practice?
For many years Otay Lake in Chula Vista has been a proving ground at the Training Center. Some sessions would be going my way, while others nothing seemed to be working.
4. Best/Anything you've done in the sport no one knows about?
Flipped in plenty of coxed pairs.
5. Any/Most important advice for young rowers?
